Cherry Hill

In late February 2008  HSI opened Cherry Hill Detox, a thirty-two bed residential social model detoxification  program on the Fairmont Hospital Campus in San Leandro, California  The program is designed to serve men and women who are withdrawing from alcohol and other drug (AOD) use, and those who are also experiencing co-occurring mental disorders (COD). It will be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year by state-certified AOD counselors, or those who are becoming certified.   The program will utilize the social model of recovery, characterized by staff-to-peer interaction where staffs are welcoming, respectful and empowering in a physical environment that encourages socialization of peers who can both receive and provide support for each other. Cherry Hill will accept program referrals from: other AOD treatment programs; mental health and social service agencies, law enforcement agencies, hospitals, families, individuals and self-referrals.
