DETOX ASSISTANT

Cherry Hill, a Social Model Detoxification and referral program is accepting applications for the position of Detox Assistant. Excellent opportunity for individuals possessing an Alcohol/Other Drug Certificate, or actively participating in a certificate program.

Applicants must possess a demonstrated knowledge of alcoholism/addiction; excellent communication skills; familiar with Motivational Interviewing concepts and techniques; ability to set priorities and carry through to completion; an ability to work in a team environment; a knowledge of social model concepts; able to handle emergency situations; an ability to train and teach others; self-motivated; ability to remain calm under pressure; must be willing to work days and nights on a rotating basis; if recovering alcoholic/addict must have two years of continuous sobriety; prefer non-smoker.

Education requirements;
Alcohol/Drug Certificate, Registration with a State Certifying Body, or actively participating in an Alcohol/Drug Certificate Program and Registration with a State Certifying Body. Valid California Driver’s license, good driving record, CPR/First-aid (current). Fingerprinting/Drug testing required at time of hire

Relief Detox Assistant

Work Hours:
Work hours will be assigned to one of three shifts and may vary according to program needs. Shifts will be assigned on call as needed and may include weekends.

General Summary:
Applicants will be responsible for intakes, monitoring participant progress and providing information surrounding appropriate ongoing services.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of alcoholism/addiction

Knowledge of social model concepts

Experience working with diverse populations, cultures, and people with disabilities.

Valid California drivers license with a good driving record. Must drive program vehicle.

Day Manager - Horizon South, a non-profit agency, providing detoxification and residential alcohol and drug services to adult men has an immediate opening for a part time Day Manager (30 hrs/wk) to supervise and monitor program clients and participants, ensue safety and security of physical environment. Require 6 months experience in AOD treatment and/or recovery settings. Must be certified in CPR/first aid, completed or enrolled in AOD cert program, bilingual skills desirable, non-smokers pref.
